The ART of Wisdom
When Joey’s family moves from Florida to Michigan midway through the school year to help care for his grandfather, he is unhappy. Seeing nothing good in his new situation, Joey counts the days until he can return to Florida and the friends he misses. But a unique art project begins to change his outlook by helping him connect with classmates and meet remarkable residents at a local care center.
Students interview the residents, and Joey hears unforgettable true stories: an ironworker’s 80-foot fall, a dangerous FBI mission, a purse lost on a train, a boat crash, a broken-down car, a nighttime mountain crossing, and many other real-life adventures. Through the lessons in these stories, Joey discovers a deeper truth: God can be trusted in every circumstance. As the project unfolds, he forms meaningful friendships and gains a new appreciation for the life God has given him. By the project’s end, Joey cannot imagine life without his new friends and thanks God for bringing him to Heartland, Michigan.
This heartwarming devotional is sure to become a favorite. Joey, his classmates, and the residents of Heartland Care Center will capture your heart and inspire readers of all ages. You will want to revisit these friends again and again.
For the greatest enjoyment and learning, the book is recommended for readers in third grade and above.

What Others Are Saying
"This book has funny stories, like Gladys Benson, and each one has a life lesson and its own theme. This book is amazing because every person's story is different and unique. I also love how it's Christian related."
Savannah, Age 8, Tampa, FL
"The ART of Wisdom is a great read that will keep you engaged, challenged, and curious. I read it to my 3rd grade class, and each day they would ask, 'Who are we going to learn about today?' One of their favorite things was 'First of the day.' You will have to read for yourself to find out what that means. We absolutely loved it!"
Ms. Harris, Teacher, Tampa, FL
"This book will change a non-Christian into a Christian. This book was funny because there are lots of funny stories about people's life lessons."
